
An RTL journalist stated the bus was full upon departing from Echternach on Wednesday afternoon, but still allowed numerous passengers to embark at subsequent bus stops along the way. This sought for involuntary physical contact among those crammed on to the line 500 bus.
The RTL journalist returned on Friday to take pictures of the crammed buses.
Alessandra Nonnweiler, spokesperson for CFL, said the transport operator had noticed an increase in passengers following the “Vakanz doheem” staycation campaign. Extended bus schedules have been deployed as a result and if needed, the company would add an additional bus at peak times, she said.
Nonnweiler went on to say that there were no government restrictions on the number of passengers allowed on public transport.
Masks are mandatory on public transport, and in the images displayed in this article, this appears to have been observed by passengers.
