Especially in nursing and care homes, sanitary regulations need to be respected at all times, the minister underlined. The statement came as a reaction to the recent new case that was reported in a care home last week.
Cahen further noted: “These institutions are the homes of vulnerable people, so the virus can naturally spread more easily once inside. It is true that we have one case where several patients have contracted Covid-19. The home in question has already begun applying stricter measures again. Our message to people is clear, we want everybody to respect the rules set up by the institutions, since they have our full support in organising their own adaptations. After all, we all want the same thing, to protect our loved-ones.”
The minister further conveyed that another institution had quarantined some of its staff members out of precaution.
