Five years have passed since the baby girl has gone missing.

Despite the efforts of countless search parties and inquiries into the disappearance of the girl, no trace of the then one-month-old baby was ever found.

After in an in-depth analysis of the dossier was completed, the prosecutor's office announced on Thursday morning that it would seek to charge the mother due to her involvement in the child's disappearance.

She was reportedly the last person to have been seen with the girl on 15 June 2015 close to the lakes in Linger in the south of the country. The mother was subsequently arrested and held in investigative custody for 14 months.

It is alleged that she has yet to make a personal statement on the disappearance of her daughter and the allegations made against her.
