Minister of Health Paulette Lenert confirmed there had been several cases of passengers testing positive for coronavirus at Luxembourg airport.

Over 500 people have participated in the voluntary testing offered at Findel, with 508 tests completed by last Sunday. Several positive cases had been detected, according to the minister.

Lenert said she approved of the practice, pointing out that the tests at the airport are offered for free, which is not always the case abroad. The positive cases have also been subjected to the contact tracing process. Lenert also provided details of the legal basis concerning the document which passengers volunteering for the testing are asked to complete.

This came as a response to a parliamentary question raised by Pirate MP Sven Clement.
