20 litres of rain per square metre were expected in some places. A number of trees fell over and blocked roads. This was the case on the N11 between Lauterborn and Echternach, as well as between Mullerthal and Reuland-Moulin.
The Office of Public Works stated that the road near Reuland-Moulin will remain closed until Monday.
The National Research Fund reported that the storm also damaged the large-scale testing centre in Machtum on the Moselle river. The centre is expected to remain closed until Wednesday.
People who had already scheduled an appointment at this centre are asked not to go. They have the options to either go to a different centre or reschedule their appointment on Monday.
