The municipality also came up with an ingenious incentive for its citizens: those who are willing to celebrate National Day at home can receive a so-called "Lëtz Pack".
The package contains locally-produced foods and drinks that the residents can savour from the safe confines of their home on 23 June. The packages can be picked up at five drive-in stations in Bascharage.
Officials have also organised a delivery service for the elderly and other individuals that qualify as vulnerable.
