Good news for everybody interested in switching to alternative and sustainable vehicles, as the purchase of an electronic bike can now be compensated by €600. This courtesy is not extended to non-residents, however.
The Ministry of the Environment called the initiative "an exceptional incentive for sustainable driving" earlier this Thursday. Financial support for electric bikes will therefore be doubled, since the past months have been considered a success for alternative driving methods.
The increase in financial compensation for the acquisition of an electric vehicle will come into effect for all purchases made between 11 May 2020 and the end of the 1st trimester in 2021. The former maximum rate of €300 has thus been doubled.
Cross-border workers will not be able to profit from the increase in financial support, as the courtesy is only extended to Luxembourgish residents.
Each person can request the aid only once every five years.
