280 Luxembourg winemakers have lost more than half their revenue, despite financial support from the government.
Wine tourism has suffered as a result of the health crisis and border closures. The businesses are struggling to keep afloat and concerns have been raised as they are unable to guarantee jobs.
Some Luxembourg vintners own vineyards across the border, which have become difficult to maintain since border crossings were placed under restrictions.
The closures of restaurants and bars have also had an effect, with reduced orders and unsold wine stock.
