60 requests for financial assistance were submitted to the Ministry of Family Affairs in the aftermath, of which 23 have been evaluated and processed by a relevant commission. 13 of the requests were rejected due to various reasons, such as the insurer has taken over the cost of damages, the damage was not eligible - for instance, damaged cars or garden sheds -, or the damage was not to the claimant's main dwelling.
Ten requests were approved and so far, €170,000 has been paid to claimants. The remaining 37 requests are incomplete.
The ministry detailed that the deadline has been extended to March next year, as some request were submitted after the initial deadline of 1 November. Application forms can be found on the ministry's website or on guichet.lu.
