Last Wednesday, Luxembourg's Prime Minister Xavier Bettel took advantage of visit to New York for the UN General Assembly to meet the Luxembourgish community living in the city that never sleeps.

Mr Bettel participated in a reception at the Luxembourg House in New York.

In his opening speech at the reception, the Grand Duchy’s Prime Minister proudly stressed that “our citizens living abroad are the best ambassadors of our country in the world.”

“It is this exchange between individuals, between peoples, all coming from different horizons, that creates the wealth of our societies,” he added.

The reception also featured an exhibition by Luxembourgish artists Ben Carter and Philippe Lamesch.
