
A 2 billion increase in expenses, 1.2 billion fewer income. That’s the balance of 2020. The state budget has suffered greatly from the global pandemic, and the crisis measures have been expensive.
The DP politician says the country can expect an economic recovery of somewhere between 5-7% should there not be a return to lockdown.
A second lockdown would make it difficult for the government to stay below the 30% budget deficit, a limit it had set itself. “A second lockdown would be fatal for our economy,” said Bauler.
With regards to tax reform there is room for manoeuvring, and there will only be minimal, qualitative changes.
The budget for 2021 will also include the crisis scenario of a continuing pandemic.
