Police93 drivers caught in violation of road traffic regulations

As part of routine traffic safety measures, the police carried out intensified checks on motorists on Wednesday morning between 7am and 12pm in Luxembourg City.

The focus of the operation was primarily on school zones in Luxembourg City, ensuring that drivers maintained proper speed, used seat belts correctly, and refrained from using mobile phones while driving. In total, 93 drivers were found in violation of the road traffic regulations with 86 reports officially filed.

Among the violations, 23 involved vehicles with improper paperwork, nine drivers were speeding, and five vehicles had defects such as faulty lights or tyres. Additionally, nine drivers were warned for not wearing seat belts, one driver was transporting a child without using a proper child seat, and 13 drivers were caught using a mobile phone while driving. There were also seven cases of driving without a license or insurance.

A total of 28 police officers from various stations participated in the operation.
