According to RTL sources, the heavily guarded transport took place on Friday, moving from Herrenberg to the SIDOR incineration plant in Leudelange under police escort. A police helicopter was also deployed for security.

The cocaine packages, hidden in the rollers of a stone crusher, were described by the Diekirch public prosecutor as an “exceptional seizure”. Valued at an estimated €160 million, the drugs never reached the market, instead being incinerated on Friday evening.

Investigations continue, with two individuals currently in custody. The prosecutor’s office confirmed at 6pm that the 889-kilo shipment discovered on 6 February was transported and permanently destroyed. Samples were taken beforehand.

For “obvious security reasons”, authorities did not disclose further details about the destruction process or location.
