
Police initially reported two injuries after a pedestrian was hit by a car on Rue Aessen at 7.23pm on Monday.
The pedestrian, a 61-year-old man, was seriously injured and hospitalized, and died of his injuries during the night.
The public prosecutor’s office was informed of the situation and instructed forensic police to carry out an investigation in order to shed light on the tragic accident.
In addition, the damaged car was confiscated by order of the public prosecutor’s office, a report was drawn up and the driving license of the driver involved was temporarily withdrawn.
Emergency services from Esch-sur-Alzette and Sanem-Differdange were called to the scene to provide assistance.
