The explosion on Thursday 14 February at the Waldhof weapons depot left two sergeants dead and two injured. Marco Steinmetz, a colleague of the sergeants, has launched a fundraiser on Facebook.
The fundraiser is in honour of the two deceased and the two injured and aims to provide their families with support. The collection will be managed by the Luxembourgish Army's Professional Syndicate (SPAL).
By Monday at 3pm, the amount raised lies just shy of €50,000. Courtesy of 1,210 people, the fundraiser has so far collected €49,711.
