After a one-year transformation phase, Luxembourgish soldiers are once again stationed in Romania in full force, strengthening reconnaissance capabilities and deterrence against possible threats on NATO's eastern flank.

The Ministry of Defence confirmed the deployment consists of two officers, six non-commissioned officers, two corporals, and 21 soldiers. They will be stationed there as part of the Forward Land Forces until early October.

The mission is under French command and brings together allied forces from Belgium, France, Spain, and Romania.

In March 2026, the maximum number of Luxembourg military personnel to be deployed in Romania was increased from 30 to 40 by Grand-Ducal regulation.
