The checks took place at the Wasserbillig service station and focused on heavy transport. Officers checked paperwork, as well as the vehicles’ condition, and monitored drivers’ rest times.
A total of 24 violations were identified from 35 lorries. 12 of the drivers failed to adhere to the correct rest periods, while four were made to secure their trucks’ loads before they were permitted to continue their journeys. One was made to replace the vehicle’s tyres on the spot. Four of the lorries were seized as they lacked the required special authorisations. Police said they issued three more warnings due to violations of the regulations.
