The Grand Ducal police joined customs officials and their German counterparts from Rhineland-Palatinate to conduct a joint operation at Wasserbillig services on Thursday, targeting freight vehicles in particular.
15 warnings were issued: six due to drivers failing to observe the correct rest times, and nine who tampered with their tachygraphs.
Other fines were issued for overloading vehicles, flat tyres, poorly secured loads, poor condition of the vehicle, and missing markings and documents for an exceptional convoy. Three lorries were seized by the authorities.
