2,002 pupils opted to get the vaccine as part of the campaign, with some receiving the jab on school premises thanks to the mobile teams. Other schools organised buses to take students to vaccine centres.
The vaccine remained voluntary, with students receiving the option to register for it.
The second dose of the vaccine will be administered to pupils between 15 and 29 November under the same conditions. Pupils will once again be able to receive it at school or travel via bus to the vaccine centre.
Before the vaccine campaign launched in schools, around 55% of pupils aged 12 and over had already received a dose of the vaccine. The 2,000-odd students added over the past two weeks represent an increase of around 4%.
