The young man is alleged to have uploaded videos on Instagram that could be interpreted as threatening or encouraging acts of terrorism.

The arrest was made following a tip-off from German authorities about the suspect’s activities.

The anti-terror division of the judicial police, in cooperation with the special police unit, detained the individual on Friday. The exact location of the arrest has not been revealed.

The suspect was presented to the examining magistrate on Saturday morning, whereupon an arrest warrant was issued.

The case recalls a previous incident of terrorist-related content in Luxembourg. In December 2021, in the first such case of its kind in Luxembourg, two Islamic State supporters, Kevin M and Alysson A, were sentenced to over five years combined for spreading terrorist propaganda.
