From letting small dogs travel in plane to a deposit scheme for bottles and cans, the latest batch of citizens' petitions covers a wide range of demands.

A total of 17 new petitions are now open for online signatures. That brings the number of petitions currently available on the Chamber's website to 44. Should 5,500 signatures be collected, a public debate will be held in the Chamber.

Animals are always a popular subject for petitions: One calls for dogs weighing up to 12 kilograms to be allowed to travel on a plane in the cabin like other passengers, while another petitioner is pushing for a deposit system for plastic bottles and cans.

Other petitions ask, among other things, for better reimbursement of dental crowns, the introduction of an anti-violence course in schools, and authorisation for so-called dashcams in cars.

As ever, the petitions can be signed over a 42-day window on the Chamber's petitions website.
