Confirmation from the Ministry of Home Affairs, provided upon inquiry by our colleagues from RTL Télé, reveals that four of these applicants have been granted a residence permit. Their permits were issued under the basis of family reunification.

Out of the total nine individuals who sought family reunification, four applications were denied, while one remains pending. The Ministry cites non-compliance with conditions outlined in the Immigration Law as the reason for these rejections.

The Ministry lacks data regarding the number of applicants who have left Gaza thus far. Additionally, seven individuals born in Gaza have sought international protection in Luxembourg over the past eight months. Of these, three have received rejections, while the remaining cases are pending. The rejected applicants had previously been granted refugee status in another EU country, as stated by the Ministry.

In a related report on Sunday, RTL highlighted the challenges faced by a Luxembourgish-Palestinian couple in their efforts to bring their parents to Luxembourg.
