
To date, 909 people have requested asylum in the Grand Duchy this year, up until the end of October. The figure has more than halved compared to the same time period in 2019.
The majority of requests in October came from Syrian nationals, but included refugees from countries such as Eritrea, Afghanistan, Venezuela, Iraq, Turkey and Iran.
1,231 decisions have been made so far this year, with 611 receiving confirmed refugee status.
75 people have been deported from the Grand Duchy this year, 54 of whom left the country voluntarily.
