Télévie 2023€1,639,570 donated to the fight against cancer

RTL Today
On Saturday evening, the traditional Télévie telethon concluded on RTL Télé and ended up raising €1,639,570 for cancer research.

Since May 2022, individuals, associations, clubs, and companies have been organising events to raise funds for the fight against cancer.

On Saturday evening, during the “Télévie” special broadcast live on RTL Télé, all the pledges made during the past year were announced on the counter: this year they amount to €1,639,570.

As every year, all proceeds will be donated to cancer research in Luxembourg. On Saturday morning, RTL Radio officially launched the countdown. At that time, everyone could still make a donation. The telephone lines were open from 7am onwards. Live calls, reports, and testimonies were broadcast on the radio throughout the day.

Thank you!

RTL would like to thank all Télévie donors: all those people who commit themselves to the fight against cancer throughout the year, as well as those who have planned to help the association after their death by mentioning it in their will.

A collaboration with Belgium since 1989

Télévie is a charity event organised in French-speaking Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg by RTL-TVI since 1989 for the benefit of the Fund for Scientific Research (F.R.S.-FNRS). It raises funds to support scientific research in the fight against cancer and leukaemia in children and adults. The event traditionally concludes with a telethon.

The money raised is paid each year to the F.R.S.-FNRS, which manages the evaluation of the scientific projects submitted to Télévie: the selected projects receive all the money raised, with the costs linked to the evaluation covered by the F.R.S.-FNRS budget.

Since 2002, RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg has also been participating in the campaign alongside the Belgian channel and broadcasts its own telethon alongside that of RTL-TVI.
