And on Saturday the Télévie telethon ended and was broadcast on all RTL platforms.
The telethon started early in the morning, with the countdown launching on Radio Lëtzebuerg and the opening of the phone lines to accept donations. The whole day, the radio teams went to the donation centres to collect numerous testimonies.
In the early evening, our television colleagues took over the task of revealing the famous final tally.
The result: €1,454,376 were collected within one year.
As every year, all the proceeds will be donated to cancer research here in Luxembourg.
On behalf of everyone involved, RTL would like to say a big thank you.
A very big thank you goes to all those active in the campaign throughout the year, and also to the people who have mentioned the Télévie in their will and thus continued helping people after their death.
These were the Télévie centres this year, from which we also received many beautiful photo impressions:

Collaboration with Belgium since 1989
Télévie is a charity event organised in French-speaking Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg by RTL-TVI since 1989 in aid of the F.R.S.-FNRS. It raises funds to help scientific research in the fight against childhood and adult cancer and leukaemia. It culminates in a televised closing evening.
The money raised each year is paid to the F.R.S.-FNRS, which organises the evaluation of the scientific projects submitted to Télévie: the projects selected receive all the money raised, with the costs associated with the evaluation being covered by the F.R.S.-FNRS’s own budget.
Since 2002, RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg has also been taking part alongside the Belgian channel, and is also organising a big closing evening, simultaneously with that of RTL-TVI.
