European Central BankYves Mersch's term of office ends on Monday

The Luxembourger is known to many as one of the fathers of the Euro.

A prominent figure in and outside of Luxembourg, Mersch was Governor of the Central Bank of Luxembourg between 1998 and 2002.

He has been member of the Executive Board of the ECB since 2012.
