In an odd turn of events, a Tesla owner has decided to take NFC cars a step further and decided to implant her car keys in her arm.

The Tesla Model 3 is an all electric car that allows you to use an NFC key fob to access the vehicle. This means that you can wirelessly unlock and turn on the car.

Amie DD didn’t want to ever worry about forgetting her keys and always have a way to unlock and start her car.

Therefore she decided to implant the NFC chip into her forearm. On Hackaday.io she goes into detail about the process and the technical side of using an NFC in her arm. She explains the procedure of dissolving a valet card (given to valets for parking) in order to extract the chip. Having encased it in a biopolymer tube, she went to a body-modification shop and had it implanted.

If you’re ever worried about losing your keys, you could always get them implanted.
