Pitching to investorsTwo Luxembourgers get backing from investor on German business reality TV show

RTL Today
Two Luxembourgers, Jill Audrit and Adel Adrovic, were on German television on Tuesday evening to pitch their business idea to investors on "Lions' Den" (Die Höhle der Löwen).

The show, a German version similar to Shark Tank in the United States or Dragons’ Den in the United Kingdom, allows entrepreneurs to attempt to sell their business idea to potential investors.

Audrit and Adrovic’s prospects did not look good when they presented their vacuum protector ‘Protect Pads’. Four of the jury members thought their invention had no potential whatsoever.

However, by the end of the presentation Ralf Dümmel offered the Luxembourgish duo a deal, albeit with the amended proposal that he would receive 30% of the business firm’ shares, rather than 15%. After the couple consulted amongst eachother, they agreed that it was a better prospect that going home empty-handed.

That the two were Luxembourgish was quickly noted by Dr Georg Kofler, who even asked them about it during the show. With the two having secured investment, they are the first Luxembourgers to succeed on the show. Undoubtedly an unforgettable experience, the product is now available in both Germany and Luxembourg, making Jill’s dream come true.

Our colleagues at RTL visited the two at home to find out about how the idea came about, which was, as it appears, a complicated process involving many prototypes.
