Amazon disclosed it invested over €1 billion in Luxembourg in 2023, contributing more than €758 million to the country's GDP, according to third-party consultancy Keystone Strategy.

The announcement was presented by Jorrit Van der Meulen, Vice President for European Stores, who addressed employees gathered at the European Convention Centre in Luxembourg.

Amazon's cumulative investment in Luxembourg now exceeds €9 billion, a figure that includes over €3 billion allocated to employee compensation and benefits since 2010. In 2023, Amazon’s operations reportedly indirectly supported more than 6,000 jobs across construction, logistics, and professional services sectors, as estimated by Keystone. The company’s activities have contributed an estimated €3.5 billion to Luxembourg’s GDP since 2010.

Prime Minister Luc Frieden acknowledged Amazon's role in the country's economy, noting the importance of private sector investments in job creation and innovation. With around 4,250 employees, Amazon ranks among the largest employers in Luxembourg, according to the national statistics agency, STATEC.

Amazon's operations in Luxembourg are part of a wider EU investment, with the company reporting over €180 billion in investments across EU member states since 2010, including €30 billion in 2023.
