The Global Ventures Summit (GVS) is a world-class event where high-profile VCs meet strong start-up ventures who want to scale, and need both money and specialised knowledge to do so.
Some of these VCs are household names - film stars diversifying their equity and choosing venture capital as one portal to do so.
Snoop Dog and Billy Zane, two such stars with VC companies, will talk at the event. Will Smith’s fund, Dreamers VC, will be represented by Vikram Sasi.
Luxembourg is continuing to succeed in positioning itself as a European hub for start-ups, venture capital and private equity. For many reasons, including the social structure of companies and legislation, Europe hasn’t always been seen as the best place for entrepreneurs to reside, but the wind seems to be changing. Now, the European focus on society and people, plus the talent pool of ideas here, is attracting the attention of all kinds of weathered investors.
On Friday 4th October, Luxembourg’s House of Financial Technology (LHoFT) hosted a Quantum Computing seminar. FutureLab Consulting, from Silicon Valley, sees Luxembourg as the perfect pivot point in Europe from which to gain traction, legislation and financial backing.
LHoFT will also be co-hosting the Global Ventures Summit, which aims to attract over 100 Silicon Valley VCs, 200+ international business angels, corporate leaders, policy makers and, of course, entrepreneurs.
Over the next few days we’ll bring you interviews with three high-profile Venture Capitalists, all coming to Luxembourg for the first time, with their eyes and ears open for good ideas.
Well, this event will mostly be tailored to those keen to converse along the interface of money and ideas: venture capital and entrepreneurs, but with the list of speakers and people you might bump into, it will be an exciting place to be, whatever your metier.
GVS will take place on 20 and 21 November in Maison du Savoir in Esch-sur-Alzette.
