Today Radio InterviewThe Blues 'n' Jazz Rallye is back for its 27th year!

RTL Today
This year, the Rallye features eight large stages!

Mich Leruth, an artist booker with the Ville de Luxembourg, spoke with Melissa Dalton on her show The Home Stretch on Today Radio about The Blues ‘N’ Jazz Rallye this Saturday 15 July.

Mitch and his three other teammates book the city’s free public concerts like City Sounds, Kinnekswiss Loves, and, of course, the Blues ‘n’ Jazz Rallye. Besides booking the artists, they are responsible for planning the festival and finding accommodations for the performers. They are also involved with all the publicly hosted art events in the city, not just the music ones.

The Rallye has taken place since 1995 and began when Luxembourg was first appointed the European Capital of Culture. In 1995, the Rallye was just a showcase for Jazz music, but over the years it has grown to encompass Blues, but also hip-hop, funk, pop, and rock, all of which are descendants of blues and jazz.

This year’s Rallye is larger than 2022; there are eight large stages and eight bars. Last year’s Rallye only had seven stages and no bar performances. The line up this year features about a 50-50 split between Luxembourg based artists and international artists.
