Here at RTL Today we’ve included the event with our ‘What’s On’ for the Weekend – and here’s a few extra notes to help you find your way to Stadtbredimus (and safely home again) in record time.
What is this? It’s a village festival in Stadtbredimus, celebrating independent wine producers in the Moselle region – complete with a special (alcoholic) drink known as ‘Picadilly’. Consisting of wine, cassis, crémant, and a secret sauce, Picadilly is made only once a year for this wine festival. You can also count on live music, a bevy of food trucks, wine stalls, and local arts and crafts.
And that’s not all! At nearby Grieveldange you will find the blessing of the vineyards to wish for a good harvest. A special meal is made available for the day: a huge ‘Schmier’, that being an open sandwich consisting of bread, ham, beans, and cheese.
When exactly is this happening? It’s already on! Today marks the beginning of the festival and if you’re looking for a family-centric day, you’ll find it on Sunday 13 August starting at noon.
Are there buses and shuttles? Yes. While parking is available near the festival site, there’s practically a fleet of shuttles running – throughout the country, across the weekend – just for Picadilly. Unlike most transportation in Luxembourg, these shuttles cost €5 each way (to be paid in cash directly to the shuttle driver). No registration is required and you can find the schedule (plus your closest stop) here:https://www.picadilly.lu/navette
There’s an absolute hoard of us trying to make our way to this festival and no shuttle nearby, do we just stay home? Absolutely not. If you’re a club or group of 20 people or more, in an area not serviced by the shuttles, you can take advantage of a special bus offer. Reserve a private bus and get reimbursed up to 50% through this link.Wishing you a wonderful time - vill spaas!
