1 May – Labour Day Celebrations – FAIR

Celebrate Labour Day the right way at the Labour and Culture Festival on 1 May, organised by the OGBL. Expect a joyful jumble of concerts, juggling acts, and clowning around that’s sure to entertain the whole family. 1 May – Luxembourg Motorcross Series – SPORTS

Ready, set, rev! The first round of the 2025 Luxembourg Motocross Series tears into Kopstal on 1 May, with kids and adults battling it out across two action-packed heats. Training starts at 11am, so don’t forget your earplugs – and maybe a picnic. Children below 15 are free, €10 for adults. More info.

1 May – Season Opening & Creators' Market – FAIR

Minett Park is switching the lights back on for a new season – and they’re starting strong with the freshly named Centrale Créative. Inspired by the site's industrial roots, this vibrant market brings together fashion, jewellery, cosmetics, wood art and more from local makers and artists. Also take this opportunity to hop aboard the historic Train 1900 for a steam-powered ride through lush landscapes, or join a treasure hunt that’s perfect for curious kids (and competitive adults). 1–3 May – Gypsy – THEATRE

Laurent Pelly brings his magic touch to the timeless Broadway classic Gypsy, re-imagining the iconic musical with a fresh concert hall arrangement. Set in the vibrant world of Vaudeville, the story follows Mama Rose, a stage mother pushing her daughters toward fame at any cost, all while navigating love, loss, and the fading glory of vaudeville. 1–11 May – Remich Fair – FAIR

The Réimecher Kiermes is back, serving up food, drinks, games, and plenty of reasons to skip cooking for the day. Swing by during the week or make it a proper outing on Family Day (8 May), where the only real challenge will be dragging the kids away from the game stalls. More info.

2 May – Tuys Birthday Bash – MUSIC

Local indie heroes Tuys are throwing a headline show and party at Rotondes on 2 May to celebrate their new EP – and, shocking themselves with the number, their 18th band anniversary. Expect a packed night with guests like C’est Karma, Maz, Edsun, Poko from Eternal Tango and fresh faces Falvous. With a history of supporting Arctic Monkeys and The 1975, Tuys are living proof that starting a band in primary school sometimes really does pay off – and goes international. Tickets.

2 May – Brass Week at Conservatoire – MUSIC

Following the Piano Week of the previous year, the brass family will be highlighted during the 2025 edition. Concerts, auditions, and masterclasses will alternate throughout the week. Highlights include a visit from the Luxembrass brass quintet, a performance by the Conservatory's Brass Band featuring soloists Michel Barré and Klemens Vetter, and concerts by instructors and students. There are also masterclasses, but the main thing for the general public is the concert evening on 2 May at 7.30pm. More info.

3 May – Deborah De Luca – CLUBBING

Italian techno powerhouse Deborah De Luca brings her signature sound to Rockhal on 3 May. Rising from Naples' gritty Scampia district, De Luca has carved out a global reputation with her raw energy and defiant spirit. Expect a night that blends relentless beats with the unmistakable edge of someone who built success on her own terms. Tickets at Rockhal.

4 May – Tony Ann – MUSIC

Canadian pianist Tony Ann brings a fresh twist to neoclassical music, blending pop influences with classical precision. Known for his emotional depth and playful creativity, he has built a global fanbase through projects like his colourful EP trilogy and his imaginative “#playthatword” series. Expect a performance that stretches the boundaries of what a piano can express. Tickets at Rockhal, performances at 4.30pm and 7pm.

4–11 May – Spring Awakenings – THEATRE

Spring Awakenings takes a bold look at adolescence, sexuality, and society’s shifting norms through the lens of Frank Wedekind’s groundbreaking 1891 play. Though once censored for its raw treatment of topics like homosexuality, suicide, and rape, this contemporary adaptation brings the struggles of today’s youth into sharp focus. More info.

5 May – A Certain Idea of Europe – FILM

This film by Georg Wilhelm Pabst, in French with subtitles, explores the collaboration between German and French miners after a mine explosion in 1931. More info.

6 May – The Lumineers – MUSIC

From small clubs to sold-out stadiums, The Lumineers have built their sound on raw storytelling and timeless melodies. Known for anthems like Ho Hey and Ophelia the folk-rock band will bring their heartfelt energy to Rockhal on 6 May. 6 May – Ukraine and Europe – TALK

Join this LUkraine educational lecture by Viktor Yushchenko, former President of Ukraine (2005–2010), on the evolving dynamics between Europe and Ukraine. The lecture explores the challenges and opportunities both regions face. 7–11 May – Like A Jazz Machine – MUSIC

For five days in May, Dudelange becomes a crossroads for bold improvisation and deep grooves as Like A Jazz Machine returns for its 13th edition. Over 70 musicians from around the world will gather to celebrate jazz in all its traditions and experimental twists. With performances from iconic artists like Chico Freeman, Aki Takase, and Michel Reis, along with album premieres and fresh talent, it’s a festival built for those who crave their jazz live, fearless, and full of life. 16–18 May – New Beginning – THEATRE

New Beginning offers a mesmerising journey through time, blending technology, nature, and imagination. 21 May – La Cenerentola – THEATRE

After last season’s Alma, Belgian director Fabrice Murgia returns to the Grand Theatre with a fresh take on La Cenerentola. Rossini’s 1817 drama Giocoso reimagines the classic Cinderella tale with a wicked stepfather and a bracelet replacing the lost shoe, all set to a lively and expressive score. Under the direction of Giulio Cilona, the Opéra national de Lorraine orchestra and chorus will bring this beloved opera to life, with Beth Taylor, Dave Monaco, and Daniel Miroslaw in the lead roles. 22 May – Bonnie Tyler – MUSIC
