The annual CinEast festival shines a spotlight on Central and Eastern European cinema, with Croatia being the country of focus this year. Expect dozens of screenings, talks with directors, invited actors, and a concert and exhibition programme running until 20 October.

Marking the opening of CinEast 2024, Lidiya Koychevaand her Balkan Orkestra will be bringing Gypsy music and Balkan energy to Melusina, followed by a DJ party.

Vibrant and full of warmth, Lizz Wright’s alto voice has taken her to stages around the world. Expect a repertoire that blends gospel, blues, and jazz, revisiting the Great American Songbook as well as playing her own songs. She also leads her own record label – a true visionary for today’s music industry.

Try out new sports like wall climbing, fitness, sports classes, and wellness at the Coque this Sunday. There’s also face painting, mini golf, and XXL darts for kids. It’ll be a fun family affair.

Six scientists from Luxembourg are participating in this Luxembourg Science Slam series – a format which combines the communication of current research and enjoyable entertainment. The scientists are allowed 10 minutes on stage to present a piece of their work to a public audience.

Boris Charmatz, the new director of the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch returns to Luxembourg with his first piece for the troupe of 26 dancers. Seated around the dance space, the audience can watch Liberty Cathedral – a choreography of a storm of gestures, a cathedral without walls. The performance is sold out, but email tickets@lestheatres.lu or call on the night for a chance to still get a spot.

Book On! is a literature festival for children packed with 10 exciting workshops, performances, storytelling sessions, and other fun activities, all led by talented authors, artists, and educators from Luxembourg. The event is organised by the Lithuanian community of Luxembourg.
