Welcome to the weekend! Celebrate Pride Week or blues music, buy/sell a second-hand bike, see Polo games, see upcoming bands and marvel at street artists!

1. Head down to Blues Express

What: Blues, jazz and soul

Blues Express
is one of Luxembourg’s finest blues festivals (and we have quite a few!), taking place on just one day against the impressive backdrop of the industrial Fond-de-Gras and also Lasauvage. This year’s line-up includes Ida Nielsen & The Funkbots (DK), Kaz Hawkins (IRL), Fred Barreto Group (LU) and various local combos. Oh, and if you’re not free this weekend, the Blues’n’ Jazz Rallye is coming up next weekend in Luxembourg City!

2. Buy/sell your second-hand bike

3. Attend Polo weekend

What: Discover a classic or new sport
Where:
Polo Club Luxembourg, 64 Rue des Celtes, 1318 Merl - Google Maps

Six teams representing six nations, involving more than 100 beautiful horses, will compete on the grounds of the Polo Club Luxembourg this weekend. Thousands of spectators have attended this weekend before, relaxing with food and drinks on site, a musical gala dinner, disco party and of course enjoying the spectacular games. Tickets are available for the games only, as well as combo tickets with dinner and parties.

4. Celebrate Pride in Esch

What: Celebrating diversity all week

Luxembourg Pride takes place this 9 July, celebrating inclusion and diversity for all. Besides workshops, panels, parades and the street fest, the amazing Weather Girls are performing (remember “It’s raining men? Hallelujah!”), alongside many other acts. 5. See upcoming artists at Screaming Fields

What: Tomorrow’s rockstars

Screaming Fields is an annual music competition that showcases tomorrow’s new music acts. Ranging from pop singer-songwriters to metal and hip hop, the finalists were carefully selected based on their talent, professionality and ability to drum up a social and real life following in Luxembourg. It’s a free gig, and you may come across your next favourite local act, all while supporting these brave musicians up on a big stage.

6. Build bat homes

What: Bat Night 2023
Where: Bech-Kleinmacher, Google Maps

A fun crafting session is on this weekend, as kids gather in Bech-Kleinmacher to build homes for bats, look through a microscope at bat food, make crafts around the theme of bats and even meet a bat colony. Then, late at night around 10pm, the group goes for a walk to discover bats using a special device. Cool!

7. Marvel at Nuits de Merveilles

What: Street art festival
Where: Bettembourg Castle, 13 Rue du Château, 3217 Bettembourg - Google Maps

Nuits de Merveilles is one of Luxembourg’s most special street art and light festival, taking place in the dimly lit hours of the day (and of course night). See street artists with fire and pyrotechnics, music acts, clowns and jugglers, circus acts, acrobats and interactive workshop stations for children. Grab your tickets fast, this always sells out!
