Welcome to the weekend! Celebrate Duke's Day with concerts and games, get stuffed at a food festival, watch horse jumping or see a hip hop dance battle.

1. Celebrate Duke’s Day with free concerts and games

After last night’s banging fireworks show, traditional torch procession and late-night parties, Friday finally marks Duke’s Day! There’s a massive programme in town to celebrate the Grand Duke’s birthday: Head to the Glacis to see The Script and The 1975 play a free show, or play family games at the Play Day in the municipal park as of 10am. 2. Get stuffed at Remich street food festival

3. Watch international equestrian competition

What: Jumping high

International equestrians are galloping to Roeser this weekend to compete in some exciting riding and horse jumping competitions as part of the Réiser Päerdsdeeg. The entrance to the event is free. Make sure to plan in your visit and take a look at the schedule beforehand, because there’s a lot happening.

4. Find bargains at City flea market

What: Giving items a new life

Hunt for bargains on Place d’Armes this Saturday as the City flea market returns to the heart of the city. Unlike garage sales, which are reserved for individuals, these items are put up for sale by professionals, showcasing a different type of offer. Have fun and happy bargain hunting!

5. Grab tickets to Siren’s Call

What: Music, culture and food festival

Set in the picturesque valley of Luxembourg City, Siren’s Call is a celebration of international and local music & culture. This year’s line-up includes Phoenix, Japanese Breakfast, Billy Nomates, The Haunted Youth, Star Feminine Band and more. The music festival is accompanied by locally produced and curated food, a wine bar and cremants. Kids under 12 can go for free.

6. Watch Sister Act

What: Comedy

A classic Whoopi Goldberg comedy! Deloris, a lounge singer, is persuaded to go into witness protection as a nun at a convent after she witnesses a murder. But once there, she has trouble adjusting to her new lifestyle.

7. See hip hop dance battle & more

A handful of local urban, hip hop and cultural organisations are celebrating 50 years of hip hop this weekend. Expect graffiti, dance, beatboxing, rap and DJing at Rotondes for two days, alongside exhibitions, workshops, conferences and screenings. There will also be an old school dance battle - epic!
