The British & Irish Film Festival, another annual film highlight in Luxembourg, enters its last day on Friday, which included 10 feature films screened at Cinémathèque this past week. Head down to the picture palace to see Catherine Called Birdy at 9.30pm, a wonderful comedy drama about a young girl in medieval times avoiding potential suitors her father has in mind.

Parc Merveilleux in Bettembourg is Luxembourg’s only zoo, boasting around 200 animal species from 5 continents. It opens this Saturday for the season (until 8 October). It offers ponies, some wild animals, playgrounds and a restaurant.

Join guide Claudia on this English guided tour of the Terres Rouges region of Luxembourg. Owing its name to the bright red ore which made Luxembourg’s steel industry so successful, the former mining area today combines ancient history, industrial sites and modern infrastructure and technology. The tour is between 3-4 hours and the fee is €10 per person.

Dudelange is hosting an exhibition titled “Women on the Move”, highlighting women in migration and their contribution to the construction of Europe. The exhibition is open til 31 March, but there is also a two-hour walk through the quarters of the town about this subject on Saturday at 3pm.
