The outdoor cinema in Luxembourg City opens its “doors” this weekend to 500 guests each night, who get to experience mainstream films, both contemporary and classic, as well as cult movies and cinematic masterpieces on a big screen in a splendid outdoor setting. The programme runs for 8 days until 30 July, with screenings every night at 9.30pm.
This weekend’s selection includes Death on the Nile, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Les Vacances de Monsieur Hulot.

International acts from all genres are flocking to Mansfeld Park in Luxembourg City this late July, putting up a great programme of concerts. On Friday, Choco y sus Complices and Cimafunk are sharing the stage for a Latin American night, followed by the Electroacoustic Exploration Night on Saturday with Plastiklova and Binkbeats. If you’re into oldtimers and classic cars, the Vieille Carrosserie Day is not to be missed. This Sunday at 11am, over 130 cars from before 1970, pampered by collectors from all over the Greater Region, gather at Le Fond-de-Gras. There’s musical entertainment, a delicious summer grill buffet, and of course plenty of machinery to explore. The legendary Train 1900 is also departing from that area, as well as the mining train.

Together with the Fondation Autisme Luxembourg, Mudam offers a workshop for people living with autism on one Saturday per month. Participants will visit the exhibitions and end with an interactive workshop. The workshop is specifically designed for people accommodated by the FAL. While Rotondes’ summer festival only kicks off next week, it’s already smart to get some tickets to shows. Congés Annulés (which literally means ‘Holidays cancelled’) is the happening in Luxembourg in August, a month when the rest of the live music business tends to take a well-deserved break. But not at Rotondes! Expect loads of live music, afterwork DJ sets and a great outdoor bar and food truck. Great for throughout the week or on weekends.

The Philharmonie invites you to guided tours that lead beyond the areas usually accessible to the public. Learn about the building’s architecture, see the different concert rooms, sneak backstage and, if you’re lucky, catch a glimpse of a rehearsal. The languages of the guided tours are announced beforehand, but they may also be adapted to visitors’ needs at the beginning of the tour.
