Chaotic and revolutionary in the 80s, East Kilbride’s The Jesus & Mary Chain blew a massive hole in the mainstream pop world with their signature sonics and no-nonsense attitude. On this tour, The Jesus & Mary Chain are playing their seminal record Darklands in full and, in the second part of the evening, treating fans to rare tracks, B-sides and other treats.

Co-organised by Neimënster, the Philharmonie Luxembourg and the United Instruments of Lucilin ensemble, eight young composers worked for a week on a new piece alongside Clara Iannotta and George Aperghis, two internationally renowned teachers, and an ensemble of professional musicians. Hear the big composers of tomorrow in this closing concert, and discover the fruit of their hard labour!

On the occasion of Universal Children’s Day, Amnesty International Luxembourg has invited Janna Jihad, a young activist and journalist from Palestine determined to make her voice heard. Since she was seven years old, she has used her camera to document her community (with often violent scenes), posting them on social media. At the age of 13, Janna was recognised as one of the world’s youngest journalists.
Maen Hammad, campaigner and researcher for Amnesty International’s North Africa and Middle East region, will also participate in the event and speak about the human rights situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

Walfer Bicherdeeg 2021 is the annual get together for Luxembourg’s literary legends and lovers. This weekend the Walfer book fair, Walfer Bicherdeeg, is open once more where you can find books in all the languages of Luxembourg. You’ll get a chance to chat with some authors present, book publishers and sellers, and there’s a children’s section too. Plus, take part in the famous RTL Dictée - in English! This Norwegian dark comedy-drama was selected as Norway’s entry for the Best International Feature Film, nominated for a Palme d’Or at Cannes Film Festival, and Renate Reinsve won the Best Actress award there. In the film, a young woman battles indecisiveness as she traverses the troubled waters of her love life and struggles to find her career path.
