In this episode Hayley sits down with four amazing women who have started their own businesses for a Moms Supporting Moms – Holiday gift guide.
Mom Life in Luxembourg is a new parenting podcast made for all English-speaking parents here in Luxembourg. From crèches to crémant, we'll cover everything you need to know about raising kids and living your best life in the Grand Duchy.
Please note that even though the podcast is called Mom Life, dads are absolutely welcome! And if you are a dad looking for a gift for your wife or kids, you came to the right place!
Given that Christmas is just around the corner, I thought it would be great to celebrate the season of giving by highlighting some of the local mom-run businesses here in Luxembourg as options for holiday shopping. I’m joined by four lovely, hardworking, entrepreneur women in the studio.
Their names are Salma, Stephanie, Neha and Sonya. Each of them are expats living in Luxembourg who have started their own businesses. In addition to checking things off your shopping list, this is a great episode if you’re thinking of starting your own business in 2025. They all share tips on practical information about starting your own business in Luxembourg as well as their own personal why, which you may find inspiring too!
What really struck me was just how nice these women all are. It made me love Luxembourg even more. We gathered as essentially a bunch of strangers, but you could really feel the mutual support, understanding and excitement about being on the show, and the passion each of them have for bringing their vision into the world.
One of my earlier guests made a comment that Luxembourg has probably the highest concentration of overqualified, educated, and underemployed women on the planet. That has really stuck with me, so I am extra proud of these ladies for making it happen for themselves! Without further ado (and with a mild spoiler alert), here they are!
Salma is the owner of The Ome Store, which features beautiful and non-toxic scented candles and shaped candles. They’re online and also have a physical store downtown you can pop by.
Stephanie is the owner of Blueberry Shop, which is an e-commerce site featuring pre-loved premium brand children’s clothing ages 0-6.
Sonya is the mom behind the beloved English speaking expat store, Home from Home. We chat about Home from Home, but mostly about her newest venture, Tea Pot Parlour that’s a gorgeous gift shop and will soon be serving a full English Breakfast!
Neha is the owner of the personal styling company, StylizedU. She explains how it’s really about much more than just the clothes you wear. She says she styles the whole person, and takes into account their personality, aesthetic style, and ethos when making a wardrobe. This gift requires very little lift from the giver, because all you have to do is go on her website and sign up. And if you’ve waited till the last minute, that could come in handy!
It was a little scary to have so many people in the studio at once, but I’m so happy with how this episode turned out and I hope you are too! Please give it a listen.
