In this episode I sit down with a certified baby planner and founder of The Baby Planner Company, Morgane Him, to discuss all things having a baby in Luxembourg. Morgane is a mom to one toddler and is originally from across the border in Thionville. If you are expecting, planning to get pregnant in the near future or even if you have toddlers, this episode is for you!
My oldest is now nine, and baby planning companies didn’t exist back when I was in the thick of it. But after this interview, I really wish they did! A baby planner is like a project manager of having a baby. They don’t cover anything medical, but they cover everything logistical like shopping for the right gear and how to baby proof your home, and can support a new mom or couple in so many ways. They can also act as a coach to mentally prepare from making the transition from couple to family, and provide insight on everything from how to divide the mental load of parenthood to how to deal with postpartum depression and anxiety.
Morgane openly shares the challenges she faced when having her baby, even though she was lucky enough to have her family nearby to help out. Realizing that this is a luxury most people having babies here don’t have, she was inspired to start this business to help others.
