The Sunset Cinema outdoor sessions proved popular with Luxembourg residents this summer, achieving record visitor numbers.

The Lux Short-Film Night in Esch-sur-Alzette brought the Sunset Cinema programme to a close, after four successful weeks of operation. The outdoor cinema sessions in Luxembourg City and in Esch attracted nearly 34,000 visitors, breaking a new record.

In the capital, over 30,000 people attended the open-air projections over a three-week period, with the evening showings of Grease, Mamma Mia!, and The Lion King drawing 3,000 attendees each. The solar eclipse on 12 August also proved popular among cinema-goers.

For the final week, the new site at Esch Gaalgebierg hosted further Sunset Cinema showings, with 3,750 visitors attending the sessions. Shrek and Pulp Fiction were favourites here.
