Luxembourg’s premier concert venue Rockhal will mark its 20th anniversary this September with two landmark events, director Olivier Toth announced during a press conference reflecting on the institution’s past and future.
Since opening on 23 September 2005, Rockhal has evolved beyond a concert space into a dual-purpose cultural hub. Its Rocklab division provides support for Luxembourgish artists through project development and international export opportunities.
This combination of training ground and performance venue represents Rockhal’s core strength, Toth explained, noting the ability to nurture talent through “training camps” before showcasing them on stage.
The venue has adapted to post-pandemic industry shifts, seeing major tours migrate to stadiums while experiencing increased activity in its smaller spaces. Rockhal’s programming mix has had to evolve, Toth acknowledged, adding that they are continuously exploring new directions as well.

The festivities commence on 24 September with “Made in Luxembourg,” a free concert featuring 40 artists who have shaped the venue’s history. A 20-piece house band will accompany performers including Angel at My Table, Mutiny on the Bounty, De Läb, Seed to Tree, and Claire Parsons.
On 27 September, the “Monumental Tour” will transform the venue with an unprecedented electronic music spectacle incorporating lasers, projection mapping, and the iconic Belval blast furnaces as backdrop – a collaboration with Fonds Belval.
