Peter Greene was known for his various portrayals of villains and criminals throughout his acting career, which began when he was in his early twenties; most notably, in Pulp Fiction and The Mask.
“Nobody played the villain better than Peter,” his manager Gregg Edwards told NBC News, Sky News’ American sister channel. “But he also had, you know, a soft side that most people never saw, and a heart of gold.”
Peter Greene played the character of Zed, a sadistic and rapist security guard, in Quentin Tarantino’s film Pulp Fiction, released in 1994. He also played the villain Dorian in the film The Mask, with Jim Carrey, the same year.
In addition to his supporting roles, the actor starred in the 1993 film Clean, Shaven, in which he played a schizophrenic man suspected of murder.
He is also remembered for his role in Training Day alongside Denzel Washington, and next to Kevin Spacey in The Usual Suspects.
Greene was born in Montclair, New Jersey, and is survived by a sister and a brother.
