13-year-old Luxembourger Aridane Rodrigues Teixeira took part in the blind auditions for the show's 12th series, aired on Saturday 22 August.
For his first performance, the young singer opted for Adele's Set Fire to the Rain. French rapper Soprano, a member of the jury, pressed his buzzer during the song, taking Aridane through to the next round of the show. He will appear again in a few weeks' time after the blind auditions conclude.
The performance on the French show was not Aridane's first brush with fame. Staying true to his Portuguese roots, he appeared on the Portuguese version of the show last year. He passed the blind auditions and made it to the battle stage.
