The Nikon Comedy Wildlife Awards has named 40 finalists for its 2025 competition, marking a decade of spotlighting humorous images of animals, with winners to be announced on 9 December. Founded in 2015 by photographers Paul Joynson-Hicks and Tom Sullam, the contest has grown over the past ten years into a global draw that now attracts thousands of entries.
This year's shortlist features 40 images that organisers describe as both funny and poetic.

Beyond celebrating light-hearted wildlife photography, the awards support conservation through a partnership with the Whitley Fund for Nature, a UK charity that finances environmental defenders in 80 countries.
