Julian McMahon, the Australian-American actor best known for his roles in Nip/Tuck and the Fantastic Four films, has died at the age of 56 following a battle with cancer.

In a statement released on Saturday, McMahon’s wife, Kelly McMahon, confirmed that he passed away peacefully after facing the illness with great courage.

McMahon gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Dr. Christian Troy in the FX drama Nip/Tuck, which aired from 2003 to 2010 and earned 18 Primetime Emmy nominations. He later starred as the villainous Dr Victor Von Doom in Marvel’s Fantastic Four films, appearing alongside Jessica Alba and Chris Evans in the 2005 and 2007 installments.

Over the course of his career, McMahon appeared in numerous American television series and films, building a loyal fanbase with his charismatic screen presence and versatility.

He is survived by his wife and family.
