Inevitably, the first Miss AI competition has been launched online - although beauty is just one of factors involved...
Compensating artistic talent
The World AI Creator Awards (WAICA), an awards programme dedicated to recognising creators in artificial intelligence, is behind the very first beauty contest judging AI-generated avatars.
Although the jury will judged based on beauty, as expected, they will also take technique and influence into account, looking at the "candidates'" engagement with their fans on social media platforms such as Instagram. Ultimately, the contest is designed to recognise artistic talent, rather than reinforcing well-established beauty standards. The top three entrants will share a $20,000 prize fund.
The competition is completely free and open to any AI-generated model creator over the age of 18. All creation tools are allowed, from Midjourney to DeepAI. Each candidate can submit an unlimited number of avatars.
Virtual influencers to feature on the jury panel
The competition is organised in partnership with Fanvue, a social network featuring OnlyFans-style content creators, but specialising in 100% virtual influencers. The jury will feature Aitana Lopez and Emily Pellegrini, two influencers created by AI. The winners will be announced on 10 May.
Participation in the Miss AI contest is open now.
