The American actor, who became famous for his role in the US police series "Brooklyn Nine-Nine", has died at the age of just 61.
According to his spokesperson, the Emmy-winning actor passed away on Monday after a short, serious illness. He leaves behind a wife, Ami Brabson, and three sons. The couple had been married for over 30 years.
Andre Braugher was nominated for an Emmy eleven times during his career, receiving the award in 1998 for his lead role as a detective in the drama series "Homicide: Life on the Street". In 2006, he received another Emmy for the thriller series "Thief". In the series "Brooklyn Nine-Nine", which ran from 2013 to 2021, Andre Braugher played the strict Captain Ray Holt, alongside Andy Samberg's character Jake Peralta.
