Staff and customers at a Luxembourg city centre bar got a welcome surprise on Friday last when a well known US film star unexpectedly dropped by for lunch.
Hollywood heavyweight Jeff Goldblum popped into Konrad Bar & Cafe on Rue du Nord for a bite to eat on Friday afternoon.
According to a staff member at the popular bar, Julie Muller, the American actor dined with his assistant, quietly ordering a homemade lemonade and a salad and stayed around half an hour. The star was instantly recognisable, she added.
"He was very polite and nice. He asked us all our names and took some pictures with us," she told RTL Today.
The 70-year-old Oscar-winning actor, best known for his roles in blockbuster movies such as Jurassic Park and Jurassic World as well as Independence Day, is also a keen musician and was in Luxembourg to perform with his jazz band The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra at the Philharmonie on Friday night. Clearly Goldblum is a big hit with Luxembourgers as the event was a sell out months in advance.
It's unlikely, however, that he got to spend much time sightseeing around the Grand Duchy as the next performance on his tour was Amsterdam last night (Sunday) followed by Vienna later this week.
